Seth Rollins On His Long-Term Feud With Rey & Dominik Mysterio

The Monday Night Messiah has a new target, and his name is Dominik Mysterio. In an interview with Alex McCarthy of talkSPORT, Rollins described his rivalry with Rey Mysterio’s son. “‘Anybody is welcome to be on the right side of history, stand next to me and try and make RAW the best possible show it can be,'” said Rollins via McCarthy. “And I’ve offered that to Dominik on multiple occasions and the offer is still on the table. However, if Dominik chooses to be a resistance; I said it on Monday, we’ve seen what happens when people get in my way.'”

Rollins looked back on the latest episode of WWE RAW, where Dominik Mysterio attacked him with a kendo stick. “‘I certainly wasn’t expecting that and I wasn’t interested in getting beat with a kendo stick, but Dominik decided to make the first move, we got caught a little off-guard by Aleister Black and it allowed Dominik to grab a kendo stick and I’ll be the first to say he swang for the fences,'” said Rollins via McCarthy.

Rollins maintained that he doesn’t want to fight Dominik, but he will if he has to. “‘He definitely put us in a bad spot and now we have no choice but to move forward with Dominik as our main focus,'” said Rollins via McCarthy. “‘So as sad as that is for me to say, that’s where we are at right now.'”

WWE is often criticized for its lack of long-term storytelling, but Rollins pointed to his feud with Rey Mysterio as an example. “‘Rey has been a big part of this whole thing from the very beginning so I think, say what you will, but there is long term storytelling if you have the patience to stick around and pay attention, so kudos to you [the fans] if you got that,'” said Rollins via McCarthy.

Finally, Rollins reflected on his match with Drew McIntyre at WWE Money In The Bank. The Monday Night Messiah said he was proud of the match, and he hoped he helped McIntyre’s WWE Championship reign. “‘At the end of the day, I feel like we put together a match that really pushed Drew forward,'” said Rollins via McCarthy. “‘He’s one of the top faces on Monday Night RAW and he’s been a pretty good champion if I do say so myself. So if I helped him out in anyway along that path then I’m doing my job as the leader of the greater good.'”
