Gallows And Anderson Reveal The Original Plans For Their AEW Debut

As part of the Talk’N Shop podcast released just as their WWE obligations had expired, Gallows and Anderson went into detail about how they were initially positive that they would sign with AEW when their last contracts were up. Anderson shares the plans that The Bucks had for them if they were to debut, which would have been the closing moments of the first episode of Dynamite.

Machine Gun music hits, I come out, Gallows comes from behind, we ‘too sweet’ the Young Bucks and Kenny, turn around, then we beat the fuck out of them. That’s the end of the first night of [Dynamite]. It’s one of the biggest regrets of my life that it didn’t happen. It kills me.

At the same time that the team were talking with The Young Bucks, Triple H was persuing them relentlessly, apparently calling and texting them every day about a potential deal. Right before they were supposed to meet up with Tony Khan, Triple H finally broke them down and they resigned with WWE. According to Anderson, that caused bad blood between the former Bullet Club stablemates.

For a good six months, we told the Bucks and Kenny we were coming, no matter what because we were that ready to go. This is where it bothers me a lot that we didn’t bet on ourselves and allow ourselves to leave because we knew that we should have. That’s why I’m so glad with FTR getting out on their own terms and being able to do what they did. There were some hard feelings because people trusted the Bucks and they told other parties that we were coming and we didn’t come. It made them look like they couldn’t close the deal.

IMPACT also gave the two a significant offer, one that the company offered again to them after their firing from WWE. The two accepted that offer and are scheduled to appear as a part of Slammiversary tonight.
