Finally! Driving Too Slow In The Left Lane In Virginia Could Cost You $100

There are some things that are long overdue, like selling hot dog buns in 10-packs since that’s how they’re selling the majority of hot dogs, for example. Fining slow drivers camping out in the left lane is also high on that list.

Or at least it used to be.

According to MSN News, getting slapped with a ticket for driving too slow in the left lane is now a thing in Virginia, where more than 16,000 citations have been issued since last July. The fine for being nothing short of an absolute dick is $100, meaning the state of Virginia has raked in more than $1.6 million thanks to this beautiful measure.

“It doesn’t matter which corner of the commonwealth you come from,” Virginia House Delegate Israel O’Quinn said. “It doesn’t matter which interstate or four-lane highway. I guarantee you are going to encounter this many times, even if you’re on the highways for just a few minutes.”

Well that’s a bummer: This Driver Got A Parking Ticket Because His Permit Was Hidden By Snow

O’Quinn and his fellow delegates believe the citations will help with major traffic flow problems as well as the road rage that is often times created when some bag of shit in the left lane who doesn’t care about his fellow countrymen is doing 20 under the speed limit.

Let’s hope somebody in Oregon or Washington state forwards this to their state officials. I mean, let’s be honest. Left lane “lollygagging” doesn’t get any worse that it is there.
