Comedy Central Announces Justin Bieber For Next Comedy Central Roast

You’ve been doing it in your living room or car for years… roasting Justin Bieber, and now the wait is over: Comedy Central just announced the homegrown pop singer as the headliner for the next Comedy Central Roast.

And comedian Kevin Hart (“The Wedding Ringer”) was named the host of the roast. “I don’t normally do roasts but I had to step out for my guy Biebs… It’s his big 21. It’s about to be operation roast everyone’s ass,” he said in a press release. Kent Alterman, President of Content Development and Original Programming at Comedy Central, added, “They say only a good friend would verbally eviscerate another good friend for all his vulnerabilities. Kevin Hart is a very good friend.”

Bieber took to his Twitter account to express his excitement about the #BieberRoast: “@justinbieber For years I have wanted Comedy Central to roast me. They said only if I provided them w/ more material so for a year now I have worked hard”

Additional information, including broadcast date and roasters, will be announced in the coming weeks.

It wouldn’t be the first time the singer was the subject of fodder… just this past weekend “Saturday Night Live” decided to make fun of Bieber’s recent Calvin Klein ad, to which Bieber responded, “@nbcsnl well played. Lol.”

“Justin has been asking us for years to roast him,” says the network to Rolling Stone, “so we kept telling him to create some more material and we’re thrilled he listened.”

Bieber’s roast will be the first for the network since James Franco’s roast in 2013. Other celebrities who have been “roasted” over the years by their fellow colleagues and other comedians include Charlie Sheen, Donald Trump, Joan Rivers, Roseanne Barr, and Bob Saget.
