Call of Duty: Ghosts Reveals Co-Op Mode Called Extinction

Infinity Ward revealed earlier in the year that it will no longer be pursuing the Spec Ops cooperative mode that it has layered into the Call of Duty experience for several years. So what’s in its stead? Extinction.

Call of Duty: Ghosts‘ Extinction co-op mode is for up to four players and pits them against aliens. So long are the days of zombies, these aliens are vicious. Not only do they look disgusting with their insect-like bodies, but they want to eat you alive, and they probably will because these buggers are fast.

Your goal is to wipe them from existence by destroying their hives. In the process of doing so you’ll encounter base defense, horde, and scavenging objectives across 14 different maps (more are sure to come).

Made better, there’s an upgrade system with unlocks and levels in addition to four playable classes spanning several archetypes to make this a mode well-worth your time.

Call of Duty: Ghosts debuts on November 5th for Xbox 360, PS3, PC, and Wii U. You can play the next-gen versions at launch by purchasing a full copy or opting for a $10 upgrade fee if you already own a PS3 or 360 copy.
