NASCAR Fans Think These ‘Monster’ Models Are Too Risqué

Despite a recent backlash on social media, Monster Energy claims they’re not budging when it comes to what their models wear at future NASCAR racing events.

Following last weekend’s Sunday’s Clash at Daytona, there was quite the firestorm on Twitter, with several NASCAR fans comparing the Monster Energy models to hookers.

Mitch Covington, Monster’s vice president of sports marketing, told ESPN that the outfits are consistent with what their models have always worn at racing events.

“Monster has always been about racing and girls, and that won’t change,” Covington said. “When we first started in NASCAR with Robby Gordon in 2009, our models today were conservatively dressed compared to what they had on back then.”

Monster is in the first year of their new  $20 million sponsorship contract with NASCAR to own the title of its top circuit.

The only difference is that with the former NASCAR sponsor, Sprint models wore firesuits in Victory Lane.

Big whoop.

And the end of the day, it’s the black corsets. NASCAR is a southern sport, an area of the country where women are expected to wear dresses to college football games.

For those countering the argument these Monster outfits are too risqué — you have to appreciate this tweet.

Do you like apples?
